I've got a Viper I like, but I also have a Buckshot that I like even better. The Buckshot is about half the price also.

I have 2 Summit Vipers. Best stand I have ever used. I lock 1 to a tree and use the other to carry in and out. I bow and gun out of both. Don't worry about cost. Buy what is going to be the best for you. Do your research ,as you are, and get what will be the best for you. Nothing worse than buying hunt equipment and not being what you really need. You will not go wrong with a summit. Safe. Comfort for all day sets. Quiet. Reliable. I'm buying my 12 year old son one for his birthday and will be getting 1 for his younger brother when he gets a little older.

My favorite is tree lounge. In my opinion it's the most comfortable and the safest on the market.

Only disadvantage is it's so comfortable you'll probably find it difficult to stay awake and it's a bit heavy compared to some I've tried. Check it out at http://www.treelounge.com/

I believe Margaret talks on the forum about the only reported accidents involving tree lounge. Both were attributed to a bad supply of aluminum way back in the 80's or something. The aluminum supply company was found at fault in both instances.

I love my Tree Lounge. Its a little heavier than some other climbers, though, so keep that in mind. And, as was mentioned above, the thing is so darn comfy, you may find yourself drifting into dreamland after a few hours of seeing no deer!

I like permanent stands. Of course you don't use them on public land though. It is like sitting on your deck, you can build a blind few different seating arrangements, hangers for all your stuff. Just plain comfy! But, you need to build a few, so you don't over hunt any of them.
Good luck!
