I have no idea what your asking. Do you mean if you own a cat? Or if you see a cat in the woods? Or maybe there is just a cat around who doesn't seem to like you and you think he has something up his sleeve....

If its in the woods, all I can say is I had a big black cat walk across in front of my stand last week, and still sw 5 deer, it didn't seem to bother them at all.

If a black cat walks in front of your stand, who gets the bad luck? You, or the deer?

I didn't get a shot, so it must have been me!

Don't really know what you are asking. I had a bobcat pass and about 1/2 an hour later, I saw 2 deer.

My cousin last summer had a doe and fawn in his backyard. Along came a house cat. The doe took off after the housecat and the only thing that saved the cat was that it happened to make it to a tree after a fairly long chase. The doe kept trying to trample the cat. The doe was obviously protecting her fawn, even though the fawn outweighed the cat by a huge margin. So, what I took from this is that deer see a cat as a predator. I doubt a mature buck would think twice about a cat, but a doe with a fawn might pay attention to it a little. Although at this time of year, I doubt it would make any difference.

I had a situation where a doe passed about 15 yards from me up wind and make her way out to an open field. She proceeded to walk the game trail and all of a sudden she was stamping and acting really nervous. So she turned around and came back to a crossing and continued to walk the gully where she came from. Thinking that was weird and that she might have winded me, all of a sudden a big white fur ball (fluffy the cat) comes walking by me out in the field where the doe was headed. So in my opinion yes... cats can alarm deer

There is a cure for that.
