I'm so excited and nervous; like a kid who can't wait for Christmas presents. This Sat I will be in my Matrix and a waiting fer mamma doe or daddy buck!!!

Every opening morning and this year will be my 50th opening morning. If I ever don't feel this way, I will be ready to quit hunting. Heaven Forbid.

the weather has really changed in the past week and its starting to feel ALOT like deer season. so im startin to get the itch really really really bad.

Yes every year. Bow season stats in New York (northern Zone) Sept 27th and Northern gun season starts 21st of October. I have checked my gear a dozen times. I'm on my 35th season and it never loses the excitement!!!

I haven't had a decent night's sleep in a week, and this week will only be worse. Friday night, I won't sleep a wink. Saturday morning, I'll be camped out in my stand at least an hour before daybreak, just sitting there chewing my fingernails into the meat with my stomach in knots.

How is this fun? I'm not quite sure, but all I know is that I've only got about 113 hours to go.

I have been hunting for 20 years and I am so very excited about this season. My son gets to come with me this year. Like others have said, if it gets to the point were I am not anxious and looking forward to the season, I will stop hunting.

i cant wait till october 21st. Reading all the stories on here, and seeing the pics of bucks people are harvesting doesnt help me any. I can't wait.

I've been hunting for 50 years now, and never lose the excitement.
I just got a new lightweight portable ladder stand this year (I like to have my feet connected to the ground) and guess what I've been dreaming of every night for a week? Either setting it up (first morning in the dark) or sitting in it watching deer come into range!
It's part of the hunting experience I hope I never get over.

I start to get eager for deer season once the summer ends and Sept starts. The day or 2 just before the season opens I go nuts ........double , triple checking everything and I can hardly sleep the night before the season opens.......

Man the night before the first hunt of the year i cant sleep at all.

The RUSH is why we all do it. When I don't get the rush anymore it won't be fun anymore. I always say....Hunting is hours of boredom interrupted by a five minute adrenaline rush and then the work begins!

It takes me longer to get to sleep on the night before the first Youth hunt morning than the night before Christmas. Same for the night before the first morning of Rifle Season(Especially if I didn't get a deer on the Youth hunt)[8D]

Would you call watching hunting videos for six and a half hours straight anxious????????No?????? What if you were say........hitting your grunt tube, snort wheez, rattle bag and tipping the bleet can while doing it?

i start getting excited the minute i buy my new license. it only gets worse as the season gets closer. then finally the leaves start falling...it's too much to even think about let alone type....lol
