Hey guys, what do...

RE: Hey guys, what do...
As much as I hate todo it, sometimes my thoughts migrate toward work. I've solved a few work related issues while sitting in a deerstand, nothing like peace and quiet to think things through.

RE: Hey guys, what do...
Well, like some others I tend to think of the following once I get settled into my stand:
1. Gee, I'm glad I got out of bed and into the woods.
2. Try to picture where the deer will be coming from and in from which direction.
3. Think about my next hunt and if I will switch locations.
4. Recall prior hunts from years past.
5. Plan my chores for when I get home (mow lawn, rake leaves, pay bills, etc.).
6. Think about projects going on at work and what I need to do come Monday morning.
7. Basically unwind, relax, take a deep breath and think about how lucky I am to have this hunting spot and be able to be in the woods, etc.
8. When it gets closer to December, I begin to think about Christmas gift ideas, projects for the winter season, etc.
9. Begin to think about next year.
I think of all those things. I simply enjoy watching the stars fade in the early morning sky, watching the first glimpses of daylight make their way across the sky and into the woods, watching the woods come to life, etc. Even if I don't see a deer all day, I still head home happy and refreshed and that's what it's all about!

If I hear crunch...crunch...crunch and turn my head one more time only to see a squirell, I'm unloading on the damn thing!![:-][8D]

You should hear how loud an armadillo is then. WOW!!!! Puts a squirell to shame.

I can actually feel myself relax on or around the 3rd day of the hunt.
Anybody actually fall asleep while in stand only to wake up to three does walking right behind you?
happened to me...on my first ever hunt!

I tend to nature watch. Give me a squirrel and some birds and I am content for a good 4 hours. I am lucky because where I hunt I typically see deer within the first hour of hunting and then through out the rest of my hunt. I very rarely hunt all day, my wife would kill me!!!!
