Default OVER 20 RUBS, NOT 1 SCRAPE

I WENT SCOUTING TODAY IN A NEW AREA, I WASNT SEEING NOTHIN IN MY OLD AREA. WELL I HUNT MOUNTAIN TERRAIN, AND HUNT WELL OFF THE ROAD. BEHIND ME ABOUT 200/250 YDS ARE OVER GROWN FEILDS, I HAVE A MIX OF EVERGREEN, OAK, MAPLE, ETC TREES. THE AREA LOOKS GOOD, I FOUND WELL OVER 20 RUBS IN VARIOUS SIZES MOST ARE VERY FRESH, BUT I FOUND NO SCRAPES AT ALL, WONDER WERE THEY CAN BE? THE AREA IM IN IS A NATUAL FUNNEL.

ANY IDEAS WERE THE SCAPRES CAN BE?

I have just finished reading 3 books by Jeff Miller. He states that hunting scrapes is overrated. Follow the rub lines and see where they go. Hopefully they connect bedding and feeding areas. Once you find the ends, and determine if they are bedding or feeding areas, the next task is to figure out if it is a day or night route. If you are walking away from the bedding area, and the rubs are in plain view, the same side of the tree that you are approaching from, they are night routes. If the are opposite side of tree they are morning routes. You got the idea yet...

I have hunted places that I thought would be covered in scrapes but weren't. When I would find a scrape it was usually at a hole in the timber or near a food area(wheat, persimmons, etc) and was small and inconspicuous. I wouldn't be concerned you obviously have bucks moving through the area. Spend some time to see where they are going and what they are doing. The deer there may not be rutting yet.

AS FAR AS FOLLOWING THE RUBS FROM 1 POINT TO ANOTHER THAT I KNOW, THING IS THERE ARE RUBS COMING AND GOING FROM ALL DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS!!!! LIKE I SAID BEHIND ME IS A OLD FEILD, NATURAL FUNNEL IM IN. SO WHAT I DID AFTER FOLLOWING THE RUBS IN DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS, I MADE A DECSION TO FIND THE MOST CONCELABLE TREE, WHICH I DID FIND!!!! MAKED MY TRAIL BACK TO MY TRUCK WITH BRIGHT EYES, LET THE AREA REST FOR FEW DAYS, ITS GOING TO BE WARM/RAINING ANYWAY, AND SEE HOW THE DEER ARE MOVING ONCE I START HUNTING, I MAY HAVE TO MOVE SOMEWHAT, BUT IT WILL BE A WAITING GAME. THANKS GUYS, AND GOOD/SAFE HUNTING TO YOU ALL.
