Shaking my head.......

Just was flipping through one of my hunting mags and noticed a new advertisement put out by Zeiss reguarding their new Laser Guided Rifle Scope.
" A Binoncular,Range Finder,and Scope.. All in one package...":D
Anybody see a problem with this advertisment?
This is a this device that is mounted on a rifle, is it not?
It is not illegal to point your gun at anything you don't intend to shoot
OR......
"ITS O.K".Point your gun at anything you damn well please,as long as youdon't pull the trigger.......:D

Last I heard, in Wi anyway, it was illegal to use any weapon that projected light. I heard that it would be considered shining. Not sure how true this is.

Lets forget about the legal issues from state to state and I can find no humor in this at all.

I'm all with ya Jeff! That thing is just "accidents" waiting to happen.

Never point or direct the muzzle of a firearm in the direction of anything you are not willing to permanently destroy.

What's that scuffling noise I hear? Oh it's the liability attorney's fighting for position in line!

Good call Jeff, 100 bonus points for you.

Before y'all get all excited over nothing I do beleive today's modern rangefinders use an invisible laser beam to measure distances using the time it takes the beam to get to an object and reflect it back to the unit, this all takes place in a second or two.

This unit in no way like the rest of the laser rangefindersdoes not project a visible beam of light which can be seen with thehuman eye. Maybe some are confused with the lasers that project the typical red light often seen on handguns.

I have not seen the advertisement which claims that this scope can be used as a binocular so I can not comment. In fact, it would not even be considered as a "binocular" due to it's only one eye piece. Bi=2

With that said I dont reccomend using a scope to "spot" target(s) that one doesnt intend to shoot.

I do like the concept of a range finding scope but the Swarovski, Zeiss, and new Bushnell all seem a bit bulky to me and do add weight to a rifle.
I have Leica 1200 and Swarovski Laser Guide rangefinders so it will be awhile before looking hard at them.
