RE: Does Everyone Know about the "Inner Tenderloins"?
We tell the new guys its the poison meat. I sure wish the guys I hunt with didn't know about them, same as most camps ours get eaten shortly after the deer is hanging. The only time I've ever brought any home was from a lone archery hunt, gun camp is like being with a bunch of crack addicts, everyones watching everyone making sure no-one gets more than their fare share. |
RE: Does Everyone Know about the "Inner Tenderloins"?
Funny that this is the first thread I clicked on today being that I just finished1 of 2 "tenderloins" from a deer I shot at 6:10 tonight. So good.I just grilled'em till medium rare, added some A-1 and a Yuengling and pigged out.
I'd offer someone the other one, but my brother had his way with it. |
RE: Does Everyone Know about the "Inner Tenderloins"?
I'm surprised no one mentioned this but in beef those inner "tenderloins" are the Filet Mignon in beef, or the inner part of a Porterhouse Tbone, the other larger piece being the backstrap.

I cut them out immediately, put them in the fridge and age them a few days, even better than right off the deer..........if I can wait!
