Coyote elimination

I've been thinking about a way to reduce the coyote population in areas where they seem to be doing a lot of damage to the deer herd. I've been asked about coming up with a way to do this without having to call them in and shoot them. (Difficult to do in this area.)

I've come up with a little design that should get them every time. They should make it no farther than 10 feet from the point they get hit with this sucker. Would anyone be interested in such a device. It should be relatively cheap and the only thing it would need is some rotten meat to bait them in. Also, it is setup so that the only animals that it will get will be either coyote or fox.

Depending on what the lay of you land is you can contuct coyote drives. Get a lot of your buddies togethor and drive them just like you would drive deer. And use shotguns with buckshot. In our area it is a really effective way of eliminating them and it is starting to catch on.
good luck

What if a curious 12 year boy comes in close for a look at the bait? Could it hurt him?Maybe even alot? If so - I'd say is a liable No-Go.

sounds interesting, but Id worry about the hazards to a boy or something along those lines, as farm_hunter said

I hope a hunter's hunting dog doesn't have a run in with this coyote killing invention.

I know a few guys that would be mighty upset if it was their dog.

Ranchers out west have used every method knowed to man. Guns, traps, poison, planes, etc. They still have coyotes. Coyotes have a unique way of breeding and if some get killed off, they just increase their litter. Rots of ruck.
