Skittles

A few years ago, on a cold dayI was going out to my treestand. AndI on the ride thereI was eating some skittles, so some of them dropped out of my pocket near my stand. And the next morning I went back out and shot a nice buckwith orange and green lips!! So I'vebeen bringing different types of animals in ever since that morning.

I usually mix up some chocolate milk and put it under my stand. Brings them right in.:D

Nothing like killing a deer w/ a milk mustache.

Deer are as fond of sweet flavors as any other animal , too bad that would be baiting here .

I wonder how many of the bashers on here have actually spent any time around tame, penned up deer. If you know of anyone that raises deer, you'd be advised to spend a little time observing them.

Bring along your deer attracting scents doe urine, curiosity, apple, acorn, corn, etc... see how the deer react to them. Now try some licorice, Skittles, molasses, pancake syrup, potatoe chips, grape jelly, peanutbutter, raisens,etc...I know a guy that raises deer and it is amazing what you can learn. They go nuts over the sweet foods people eat.

Deer have a sweet tooth. They love the stuff. As far as the buck eating the Skittles, yeah, it probably did. As far as buying bags of Skittles and using them for bait, I don't know about doing that. Too expensive and will probably attract raccoons and black bear.

I'm not using the skittels anymore. But I am spreading peanut butter around a spot about 20 yards off of my tree stand. I'm trying a lot of the things Windwalker said.

I'm with WW7, deer have a sweet tooth. There are other methods than Skittles to avoid attracting a black bear or coon.
