Antler Growth Question

How much longer will the antlers keep growing? I am in Iowa. I have some good looking bucks on camera, and I am just wondering how much more they will grow.

They are done growing in Kansas right now. They are just hardening. They will loose their velvet in about a week from now. Muzzleloader season starts Sept 9 and they have always shed their velvet by then.

RE: Antler Growth Question

I'm in central Iowa also (Ames). They should be pretty well done and starting to lose the velvet very soon. Youth season starts on 16 SEP, and hunting with my son, I have seen some loose velvet clinging at that time, but not much.

I need to get out and get tags, I think we'll go for a buck and a doe during youth season this year, just got my 13 yo a new bushnell holosight for his 870. I love mine on my Nova. I've got the itch....

I've had reports of bucks here in Northern WI that have shed their velvet.
