When do deer get gray hair?

I killed a nice 8 point last night that was very gray about the face. I was wondering at what age do deer start graying?

I don't know about other species of deer but blacktail usually have a white snout. Does have white snouts too but not near as noticeable as bucks. They get whiter and whiter as they age, even spikes have whiter noses than does. Usually 90% of the time if you see a very white snouted deer at 100 yards, naked eye, it will be a buck.
