price range will dictate alot. low end bushnell trophy 1.74-4x32 high end burris sig. 1.5-6x40. I love my burris!

I have a Bushnell holosight on a cantilever barrel, my son has one on a 20ga 870 with a saddle mount, rifled barrel. Where we hunt with a group, the holosights are great for rapid aquisition when the herd is driven by and most shots are within 70 yds. With no magnification, outside 100 yds is pushing it, but both will do a 3" group at 100 yds at the range.
