Finding a processor
I recently moved. How do I find a deer processor near my new house? I didn't see any related category in the yellow pages.

RE: Finding a processor
Start at places well known to deal with other hunters.
Sporting goods store. Bow shop. Bait & tackle stores. Gun shop. Gun range. Etc. |

RE: Finding a processor
Around here we have butchers and they take deer, we also have those hunting season butchers that only do it during hunting season. I try to stay with the full time butchers, they normally air seal the meat and it is down very well. I don't like my meat wrapped in paper, it freezer burns a lot faster. I hardly ever buy beef, unless it is a sirloin or porter house. We eat venison at my house and my inlaws so we keep a lot of it through out the year. It seems to hold a lot better being air sealed.
Like was said earlier look for butchers or try your local outfitter. They should know someone. |
RE: Finding a processor
I process my own. It'll save you a lot of $ and it's enjoyable.
