I am not sure about his age, but I am guessing about 5 1/2 years. I really hope to see him next year. I can only imagine what he will be. Another year of feeding off of white oaks, corn, alfalfa, chestnusts, hickory nuts, and all of the other food sources around here, plus, I really really hope to draw him down to the food plot I am planting in my back yard this spring.

Good Luck This Season: Buck Magnet
P.S. Only Chuck Adams can sit at home and see deer so get into the woods. =;^)

buck....that deer does have to worry eacy and everyday about hunters...well poachers...bein his home is near a field im sure hes in and a road by the field...hes a rather easy target with a trophy rack on his head...but i hope ya get some good pics of him!! and hope ya get a shot at him next year....and if hes 5 1/2 yrs old...chances are he will decline in mass next year...and he can come back as a spike dont forget lol...that would be terrible...but chances are he was a younger buck like 3 1/2 yrs and be a true monster next fall

Yes, he probablly does feed in the field. One good thing about this field is that is would be nearly impossible to shoot at deer in it. I have tried spotting this field many times but never can get to the back parts of the field where the deer are. We never had much poaching in this area "knock on wood" and I really hope that he doesn't get poached. I also hope that he doesn't go into the field and let the farmer who owns it see him, the farmer won't poach it, but you better believe that he would tell EVERYONE he could about it so their would be a TON of hunters their on the first day of rifle. He is an amazing buck, I will probablly give him another month before I look for his sheds (just to be on the safe side). I will keep you guys updated about him. I really hope that I can get a picture of him. He is one BEAUTIFUL looking deer. Thanks guys.

When the buck is at rest, the drop tines are in contact with the soil and grasses causing them to stain dark.

This buck is in the south western part of the state. There is tons of food for the deer around here, corn, alfalfa, acorns, grasses, chestnuts, hickory nuts,... The list just keeps going and going. The specific area is a farm in between a small airport and a maximum security prison. It is overlooked by most other hunters. I have only seen one other hunter in those woods this year. Hopefully he won't get hit by a car or poached by next year.
