Nice deer...both of them.
I was wondering how that works to get mounts touched up. I have on of my grandpas, and one of my dads mounts and they are both pretty old..and were done by a pretty rookie taxidermist. (my dads is a little more than 30 years old and I think my grandpas was done around the same time.

Well, my father's deer was in pretty good shape really. Its just it was starting to pull away at the eyes and the mouth. Also the nose was losing color. So he fills the eyes and mouth with a type of black putty and paints the nose. He dusts the hair and whatnot. Really not much.
However, if it is looking really shaggy, like a really sick deer you will probably need more. My uncle had a deer done for like $100 about 10 years ago from some guy and it look terrible now. I talked to our taxidermist and he said that he would just want to maybe harvest a nice buck and just bring in the cape and he could re-cape it and make it look nice. That might be a route you want to go, but it would be pricey. Good luck
ALSO....Thanks for all the nice comments guys!!
