Nice sentiment, but there has not been any activity on this thread since August of 2006!

Just a legal note, setting up boobytraps, mines, bombs, etc. is illegal in pretty much all states and could lead to criminal charges. And yes, a lot of newbies seem to dig up old topics from long ago when they should start their own new topics.

It's a shame you can't set some big leg traps and make em limp, you outta be able to legal booby trap your own place.it would be cool if when they kick your door in he gets a rump full a rock salt

When I was a kid, a guy outside my home town was having breaking and entering in his barn and hen house. He set up a 12 ga shotgun with a trip wire on the door that was always getting broken into. He got the guy, killed him. He went away for a long time. Turned out the thief was a homeless guy, we called them hobo's back then, who would break in, steal some eggs and eat them and sleep in the barn. He went to sleep forever in the barn. It is stupid to do things that will get you in more trouble than those breaking into your camp. A rule of thumb, if you thinking about doing something to get even with someone else. If it makes you feel good thinking about it, don't do it, you will not feel good for long. The best we can do is to hide cameras and hope they can be caught after the fact, unless you can afford to spend countless hours in your blacked out camp waiting for someone who may never show up.

They probably don't even realize they are old. I read old forum topics all the time when googling info. Like for example if I google problems I'm having with my 4 wheeler to see if I can find some info on what the problem might be all kinds of old Atv forum threads come up and I read them. |
I have neighbors I trust that have farms I give them a key to get in and also watch for strangers may help

Problem with cameras, besides after the fact, is you need to be able to identify them. I know some who showed pictures or video to police. They asked if he knew them, cause they didnt.
Covering driveway both directions is good. Cell service on the camera is becoming cheaper option, if you have service. |

Anybody got any good camp security ideas they can pass along? Thanks in advance set up a wifi network if possible and install camera's. have trail cams hidden at any entrance to catch people trespassing. make friends with someone that lives close by and pay them or let them hunt in exchange for keeping an eye on the place. |
