Bambi, (Food for thought)
My little girl loves watching Bambi! Mainly because she loves watching deer and other wildlife. Has anyone ever noticed all the misinformation about deer and wildlife in the movie? A couple of things I noticed is that deer mate in the spring time, and the bucks still have their antlers too. There are several other things also. I was curious to see if anyone else has ever noticed these things about the movie. I did read an article last year, "Why Bambi must die." that addressed some issues about the movie as well as harvesting fawns. What do you think about the movie and harvesting fawns in over populated areas?

Yes, I have seen many things the movie as you. the one I really like is that the buck is with bambi....ah right. But you know it is a kids movie and a classic i guess. I have almost wondered if it is not realistic to protect hunting, what you think? You know far strecthed so no reality, much like many films.
I would say harvesting does and fawns will help in over pop areas. But especially does, since they are successful breeders and you want to limit the breeding to a point. Fawns may grow into bucks or replace the does that were harvested so you keep it in check.

The article I read says that the movie is an anti-hunting movie. I wish I knew where those woods are because in one scene there were about 100 bucks together. Out of all those bucks Bambi's mom is the one that got shot. Probably a management doe on one of those high fence ranches that have and 2:1 buck to doe ratio. HA!

Heres what my uncles says: "If its brown, its down!" I would personally would not shoot one, but dont see nothing wrong with it especially if the area has a lot of deer. I heard fawns are better eating too, but have not tried it yet.

I've noticed that just about ALL Walt Disneys animated films interject some type of anti-hunting or animal rights sentiment whenever possible. Some of it is very subtle and others are downright blatant. The most notorious in my opinion is Beauty And The Beast. Check out how they portray Gaston (the villian of the story)! They go so far as to point out the fact that he: "Uses antlers in all of his decorating" as if that is some sort of bad thing.

Ah, the classic Bambi. I wish that it was the worst example of anti-gun propaganda from Hollywood. Unfortunately, much of what they put out today is much more over the top. And the few celebrities that don't agree tend to keep quiet for fear of being seen as a "right-winger".
