hey, i want yalls opinion on what gun is the best to hunt deer with? And yes i know that different people have different answer's, i just want yall opinion.

That's easy , the one with which you're most confidant shooting .
My own preference is a .54 caliber muzzleloader loaded with a patched round ball . If I were choosing for a first time deer hunter I'd go with a 12 gage loaded with slugs .

I think the winchester model 94 has shot more deer in the past 100+ years than any other gun out there, but I use a 7mm08 700 rem mtn rifle

7mm/08--accurate,mild recoil,flat shooting,based on the .308 cartridge(can't go wrong there)all in a short-action rifle.Really puts the smack on deer,too.

30-06 or 270 but I have 30-06 so I will go with that. Manufacturure doesn't really matter. as long as your happy with the brand you own.

Like you said, everybody will have their preference. I've been using the same Rem model 700 in .270 cal for over 30 years. I like the Hornady 140 grain Lt Mag cartridges.

I'm shooting a remington model 788 .308 bolt action, they don't make them anymore but field and stream had it this past winter as one of the 10 best new used guns. I shot a nice buck with it last gun season and it is a beatiful shooter. Such a smooth, clean shot

I have only ever shot my Mossberg 30-06 and i find it works just fine with a 150grn bullet. So i would have to say the 30-06.

I have always used my mossberg 500 rifled slug......I have a remington 710 30.06 butI can not hunt with it in NY erie county

I use a 30-06 to deer hunt with. You'll get as many different answers on this thread as you will on a "what's your favortie food" thread.

A buddy of mine uses a .280. Another buddy uses a 7mm or a .270. Dad uses a .308. I use a 30-06 and have actually killed deer with a muzzleloader and also a Mossberg shotgun.

I do like the 30-06 load an awful lot when it comes to deer hunting though...

ill swear by the 30-06 in the remington model 7600.a lot of people will say that a pump wont beas accurate as a bolt, but with my fathers hand loads ive never shot a group worse than 1/2".youll get ur 2nd shotoff as fast as you can aim therifle. in mine book its the bestdeer gun. 165grainis the way to go!

I use a 30-06 which is best to use in the areas that I hunt. I would like to get a 7mm\08 for my son, which is currently using a .300 savage. Like what was said before, to each his own.

STEP 1: Choose a weapon of adequate caliber/stopping power without over doing it.
