farm land
 

How do you go about to finding out what farm land is good to hunt on. Should I just scout from a road that looksover the landa couple of days to see if therescritters comin in or on the land. How do you guys do it, is really what Im asking. I found some land with an apple tree orchard, and seen some black bears around but not sure if they go on the land or not.

well first off you need permission lol. if you have a farm your going to be hunting then chances are that deer are there so you need to scout to find where they are. its not hard on farm land. to find the bedding areas simply look for the darkest deepest nasties thickest patch of woods and i bet youll find bedding areas. next off look for travel coridors to and from the bedding area and food sources. food sources dont neccesarily have to be corn or other crops. it can be acorns, clover, etc. find what they are feeding on and find where they are bedding and get between that and you will kill deer

Looking at the property from a topo map and aerial photo will give you some great clues , but that apple orchard alone would get me knocking on the door . It wouldn't hurt if you were to bring up to the landowner that you like to hunt bears too , bears can decimate an apple orchard .

its not rocket science cougar. the deer have to eat drink and sleep so you need to use that to your advantage. if you know the property and scout enough then you will have a succesfull season

I know this sounds kinda crazy.... You need to ask the mail carrier if he has seen any deer. They are out driving the roads everyday and if they are like my carrier then they are more than willing to volunteer any and all information they can.
