Not seeing any fawns
I've been to my lease twice in the last two weeks and I haven't seen a single fawn. No tracks or not even any pics on my trail camera. I'm in North Texas, should I be seeing them by now?

RE: Not seeing any fawns
I'm seeing them here in Central Texas.
Of course, I'm using a spot light to look for them. (legal as long as you do NOT have a firearm in the vehicle, and I let mylocal Game Warden know whatI'm doing.) |
RE: Not seeing any fawns
yeah the mothers (does) are probably not taking them out in the open and teaching them yet, they are probably teaching the neccessities

RE: Not seeing any fawns
I hope so. I guess they may be to young to eat corn right now because thats where I have my trail camera and theres no pics of fawns but a lot of pics of does.

RE: Not seeing any fawns
same here--lots of does around that look real skinny like they have just dropped and are adjusting their weight, but no fawns to be seen. I also put some corn in front of a camera and no pics of any. The one fawn that I have seen was dead on the side of the road right next to our property. I bet they are just not moving around much since they are still most likely pretty young--the one I found was tiny. They will be wondering around soon, I bet.

RE: Not seeing any fawns
I was mowing one of my pastures along a woodline and jumped a fawn. I have also seen some tiny tracks crossing the roads of my lease, but the does are not bring their babies out much yet. I am in eastern Texas.
