Confused..Illinois
Am I understanding this right, that you have to buy a$365 lottery application/permit before you can even get selected to hunt w/ archery equipment? What happens if you get rejected?Do you get your money back?
This goes for all public land (National Forest,WMA's)..also? Down here we don't have to buy a license before we put in for a quota, and we can hunt public land as long as it is open without having to be drawn for a lottery,so please overlook me.[8D]Thanks for any help. |
RE: Confused..Illinois
You buy the non-resident archery permit up front and it enters you into the lottery. If Illinois doesn't sell all 20000 non-resident permits, you win the lottery and get to hunt. If more than 20000 are sold, then there will be a drawing and a few unlucky hunters who get their money back. For NR permit, you're right $365 bucks.
This setup has more to do with getting $$$ from non-residents than anything. Goergia gets more $$$ from the non-residents who hunt here too. I think they should get more!!! |
