WHERE WOULD YOU HUNT AT?
i hunt on public land and there is heavy pressure on the deer during
rifle season. i have two choices where i can hunt at. one is a funnel between two lakes. the other hunting area is a clear cut verry thick cover with deer trails all over the place. no one hunts the clear cut. i am hoping that during the rifle season that all of the heavy pressure the deer will want to hide out in the clear cut. these are my choices where would you hunt at? |

No doubt, the clearcut.

Got to agree. Find a well travled area at the edge of the clear-cut.

RE: WHERE WOULD YOU HUNT AT?
That all depends, if your using a ground blind or tree stand. If its clear cut and thick you wouldnt have a good shot from a ground blind. Are you going to build a blind high enough of the ground to have better shots, or are there any trees that didnt get cut down where you can hang a stand. I like the funnels but its all on how you approach the clear cut and what your cover and shots will be like. Tough question?

RE: WHERE WOULD YOU HUNT AT?
I would hunt the clear cut where you know the travel route's are if you can finda tree big enough for a stand use it.

RE: WHERE WOULD YOU HUNT AT?
I would probably go out to the clear cut but don't count that funnel out. If people are doing drives in the area and really stirring things up that funnel could be a big ticket to nailing a smart buck going out of a drive the wrong way. Same could be true with the clear cut. [/align] |
