RE: yankee hunting?
With the exception of a few people I don't think there is any debate that there is fantastic deer hunting throughout the U.S. While Alabama and Florida won't have the number of high scoring bucks that states like Ohio and other states have, we have a long (from Oct till the middle of Feb) season and have a liberal (2 deer per day, or about 200 legal deer per season potential),season in most of the areas to hunt.

RE: yankee hunting?
This yankee/southern thing is getting old. Lets just hunt.

RE: yankee hunting?
One buck and a doe or two does per day in most of the area. This includes bow, muzzleloaderand gun season. I guess this is a limit, however it is liberal. Not many people get hoggish about it, although I do know a few that shoot 40 or more per year, legally.

ORIGINAL: retrieverman This yankee/southern thing is getting old. Lets just hunt. But if you're just making an argument as to what part of the mainland US is the best for hunting, I'm going to have to say the Rocky Mountains. (This the the #1 WY P&Y bull- I know the guy who shot it very well). |
RE: yankee hunting?

RE: yankee hunting?
ORIGINAL: DearSlayer357 .....northnot good for hunting? Now if you really want to see how good you are, come up to Yankee Country and hunt northern Maine and NH. Hunt areas with less than10 deer per square mile. Where deer grow to be this side of 300 pounds dressed. Where you have to use all your knowledge and face elements that test your strengths. If you do come up, I wish you luck, but just one piece of advice. Leave the phone number of you taxidermy shop at home. You ain't in Ohio! :D Good Luck in '06. |
