Help on Speech...Why do you hunt?

I decided to "persuade" people to hunt for my speech later on today. I already know a lot on the topic of hunting so I figured it'd be easy. So my question is...why do you guys hunt?

I may use some of your replies in my paper. Thanks for the help. I'll let yall know how it goes.

I believe that you have to hunt first before you can answer that question. FroMan I know you do. My first time hunting I really did not want to go. After the first day I was absolutely addicted to hunting. I tell my wife that it is better than drinking, smoking, taking drugs. Wow you can't beat being out there with the wildlife. My wife ask's me the same question every time I come home without a deer.

Simply put I am addicted. I believe there is a post on one of the forums about deer hunters being addicted and I believe all the post to be absolutely true

Check out Outdoor Life this month. There is a great article about why we hunt. I think this might clear things up for you.

Good Luck!

RE: Help on Speech...Why do you hunt?

I go hunting to get away from everything. It's amazing to sit down, watch a squirrel climb your tree, get in a fight with it while being extremely quiet, watch a bold eagle go by, heard the ducks and geese follow the Kansas river , and then look down and see a deer standing there.... ;-)

We don't hunt to kill, we hunt for the thrill of the chase, to attempt to outsmart an animal on his/her own domain, to be young again. Seeing deer and harvesting deer while on the stand brings me the same satisfaction... Harvesting a big buck is great, but seeing one is magnificent. You just have to try it sometime. It's like time stops while you;re out hunting.
