Wisconsin - Looking for Hunting Land

Howdy,

My hunting cohort and I are looking for some spots in Wisconsin for Fall Gun Deer Hunting. We were hunting in Kewauskum but after being there a few years it seems the area's cleaned out. This past season I saw and took a shot at a young buck but missed. Noone else in the vicinity saw or heard anything all weekend. I'd like to go someplace where I'm not restricted to the use of my shotgun since I've got a .30-06 I'm dying to use but trying to not go farter than 2 - 2 1/2 hours from Milwaukee. If you have suggestions please shoot me an email. Thanks.

Shannon

why would you be restricted to a shotgun? Is it a State law or property rule? just curious.

RE: Wisconsin - Looking for Hunting Land

There are many zones in the south eastern quadrant of Wisconsin that are shotgun only. Unfortunately, those are rules put in place by the DNR.
