RE: WTH
I have shot two deer with a few tumors on them, but nothing like this one. One of them in PA and one in VT. The F&G Biologist told me that it was fine and you could eat the meat, but I don't think I would have if they looked like that.
Sorry, but that is one UGLY buck. |
RE: WTF
ORIGINAL: jochs Thats got to be the most tumors I have ever seen on any mammal. I wouldn't know what to do if something like that walked past my treestand. Thats a once in a lifetime animal for sure. |
RE: WTF
That deer actually has Deer Warts, which are actually fairly common and caused by a virus. They can't be spread to humans but are spread from deer to deer through contact. I had a few trail cam pictures of a doe with one large wart on her face, during the winter it froze off and then the next summer it grew back again. I had a chance to take her that fall bowhunting but unfortunately shot over her back. Her are a few pictures of a deer taken in Rhinelander Wisconsin area with deer warts, kind of gross.

RE: WTF
In college we called those cutaneous fibromas. (deer warts)
Supposedly, the meat is fine. The tumors are just on the skin. I say... bleach. I wouldn't eat it. [:'(] |
