Do you cut around the legs before pulling the hide off?

I've been doing it for years. You can have him skinned, cleaned and quatered in 20 minutes or less.

When the deer is hanging by its neck and before I pull the hide I'll cut off the front legs right above the knee joint and cut the back legs just below the knee joint.

I didn't notice anyone mention cutting up the belly all the way to the neck. And make sure that rope is a strong one, clothes line just don't make it.That skin is real tough, and you will swear that you are going to pull the deer in two. And hang that deer from a stout limb.

So, is the hair against the golf ball or the raw hide against the golf ball??
I guess it doesn't matter, but if it does it would be nice to try it the right way the first time.
Hair against the ball?? Or fresh raw hide against the ball??

doesnt taking the hide off with suck force cause the meat to tear in some spots? i know that doing it "the old fashion" way we alwasy have to be careful of pulling too hard so that the meat doesnt tear...

I had one more question. Do you need to make cutes around the head, legs, tail so that the hide will pull off. I guess you would, just like you do when you do it the old fashion way.

I've never done it this way but I plan to on the next deer. The way that I understand it, you do NOT make the cuts up the legs. Only the cut from the sternum to the head.

Let me know if I'm wrong about this.

Golf balls is hard to skin! First you make a small incision around the circumferance, use a good utility blade and watch your fingers. then clamp that little sucker in a vice and whack it a few times with a hatchet. When that outer shell does come loose grab it with pair of pliers and tug like heck! Then throw it away while cussin.... It's easier to skin a buck!

What cuts of meat do you get off of a standard golf ball.<img src=icon_smile_clown.gif border=0 align=middle>
