150gr for .270?

I want to try the new Winchester XP's this coming deer season in my .270win. As of right now, they only come in 150gr.
I've never shot 150gr. out of my rifle, only 130gr. and a few 140gr's. So, I have no experience with them. I know that every load and rifle is going to shoot different. I know that. But my question is what are some of your opinions of a 150gr bullet in a .270win?
Most of my shots are 15-50 yards. But, I do hunt this one place where a 100-150 yard is the norm. I like knowing excatly where my bullet is going to hit at every distance. I don't like playing the guessing game with "shoot a little high if hes X distance" Or "shoot a little low if he's Y distance". With 130gr Winchester Ballistic tips out to 200 yards I didn't have to worry about aiming high or low because they shot so flat, but I changed bullets.
I know what the charts say, but in real shooting, would there be much of a drop out to 200 yards ?

Either one of the three will kill a deer if you hit it in the right place. There probably won't be an appreciable difference in where they hit at those close ranges and a few shots at the longer range will answer that question. I like the Hornady 140's best for my rifle.

There won't be much difference out to 200 yards in the trajectory. I might suggest the New Federal Fusion in 130 grain as well. I took nine mule deer with nine shots with them last fall. Every one perfprmed perfectly regardless of the range. I am sold on them for my rifle. They only clocked 2880 but man do the deer drop when their hit.

I also like Hornady's. I used to shoot the SST's.

I thought about trying them last year, but went with the accubonds instead. I am kinda a winchester guy and my rifle likes pretty much everything wichester makes.

I went to the federal web site and couldn't find anything on the Fusion's. When I looked last year they were on there. Did they quit making them or something?

I am a great fan of 150 gr 270 bullets because I have hadan old tang safety Ruger Ultralite for 20 yearsthat prefers them to any other grain, and I have killed a majority of my 90+ deer with that gun. I now have a Blaser 270 that will accurately shoot any bullet that it is fed, and I have seen very little trajectory difference between 130 and 150 grs.

there is a few inches of difference between the drop of the 130 gr and the 150. To me those few inches count and thats why i only shoot 130gr from my .270. i use the 150gr from my 7 mm mag and .30-06

Strut, I used Fed 150gr NP, Ruger .270 on both of these in the same day under 200yds. (1994)
