Question on sighting in ML

If my gun requires 4 clicks per inch at 100 yds, how many clicks do i make at 25 yds?

Also, if I want the CVA Powerbelt bullet (50 cal, 295 gr with 100 gr pyrodex pellet) 1 inch high at 100 yds, where should I try to get it to hit at 25 yds?

I just mounted scope and want to sight in tomorrow am.

thank you

16 clicks at 25 yards. Set your scope dead on and reset 2 or 3 inches high at 100 yards.

RE: Question on sighting in ML

16 is what I thought since 100 yds is 4 times farther, but I was told 8 clicks by a friend (which is why i posted the question). Not really sure at this point.

Are you positive 16 is correct?

16 clicks is the correct number, 8 would move it 1/2" at 25 and 1" 50 yards.

Now not all scopes track true, so you may find it more or less depending on how the scope tracks. But as it states on the scope this is how much you are supposely required to move it 1" at 25 = 16 clicks. (which equals 4" at 100 in theory) It will get you close to where you want it to be, then fine tune it 100 yards.

RE: Question on sighting in ML

Sorry I forgot your second question, but basically you will want it about dead on 25 yards, then you'll have to fine tune it at 100. Every load, gun shoots different so I say it is impossible to tell you the magic number. Just get it on the grid map at 100 and do the math from their, 4 clicks=1" at 100!!!!

Good Luck.
