SPIKE... BACK TO STARTING MEMBER?
 

The last time I posted a message I was a double spike with 120 postings, now I'm back to a starting member?

Does any one know how this may have happened!<img src=icon_smile_angry.gif border=0 align=middle>

What is the point we all come hear for anyways? To get a little icon by our name? I hope not!!!! I actually think they should do away with the post tracking, what purpose does it serve?

It's happened to me twice but i agree with Skeeter, i don't care how many times someone post and don't care how many times i post. I come here for information and to reply to a topic if i think i know anything about it and sometimes reply even if i don't. Great site!

My question was a simple one, does any one know how this may happen.

The question wasn't posted to see if any one cared whether or not the icons were showing or not.

I too value the site and the vast knowledge of information. If the system is deleting items how are we to know if other items like fresh topics arn't being zapped?

Dead issue now, look forward to chating on other topics.

Hey JRED,
I also went down to 0 posts. I work in operations systems security and I an pretty sure I know what happened. They were more then likey are having problems with the server the message board was on and had to go to an old back up server which would reflect our posts going down.

Starrman's theory pretty much matches the explanation that admin gives whenever this happens. The word is that when they reset, the post counts go back to what they were at that point, but that all of the CONTENT (posts, information, or bigfoot sightings<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>) is still there. This has happened several times that I remember and some people always get upset over it. Your post numbers will not be fixed, and I promise not to judge you on the size of your rack.

Why do people get so defensive in here? I mean &quot;Hunters&quot; can take an animals life with no problem but can't take criticism (Actually that wasn't even criticism and you got pissed). Seriously this has been on my mind since day one of stepping on this site this just gave me perfect proof of it to speak my mind. i lost about 200 this time...i would be a life member easy if i never lost any...i had over 1200 last time i looked..and the purpose that i see in it is to tell people how long youve been around and how much they should trust you...if you have 2000 post and tell someone something id think they know better than to lie and try to cause problems....just my thoughts...i personally like the counter..i can care less bout the icon..i wish we could make our own...only with all the members the sight would slow even more...
