7mm-08,I hunted the ADK mnts since I was a kid with a trusty lever action 30-30 which was a great mountain gun but on the heavy side, i got a 08 - 8 or so years ago and have taken shots and connected with it that I wouldn't have with the 30-30, the 08 rolls them everytime. I also use it to hunt Chucks and fax and have made sucessfull shot at 300+ yards so it can reach out and kiss them no problem.

i would use the .270 hands down with a 130 gr bullet. pushes the bullet at 3060 fps which i always like all my hunting guns to shoot above 3000 fps. if anyone cant make a 300 hundred yard shot with a nicely lined .270 then theres some thing wrong. the bullet only drops bout 13 inches at 300 yrds. Try it, youll like it.

All good calibers. I own all three. The 270 and 280 are probably the best long range deer rifles on the planet. You could gain a little by going to the Magnums but not much and its not needed.
