Help with Scents

Well I have used only two estrus scents while bowhunting, Tinks 69 and Love potion #9. I have had deer come into the area but not go directly to the placed scent cannisters, none of the Bucks with ther nose to the ground or high in the air. I only put it out during the rut. So I really dont know if the scents are working or just good stand placment? I am going on a In rut hunt to New Brunswick the last two weeks of the season, November wich is full rut time there. Does anyone have any suggestions? Those big old bucks up there are not under any pressure where I am going so It might be an advantage, but like I said im not sure if I will be helping myself or not. Any suggestion on scent thing would be appreciated.

RE: Help with Scents

I have recently read the book that the Wildlife Research Team came out with and found some helpful hints. Make sure you have it set up right with the wind direction. Also, i noticed a grunter will really entice them to get within close range. Never put the estrus on yourself though, otherwise the deer will be constantly looking in your direction, put it in a thick (pine trees) area where a buck will not be able to see into, making him have to come in closer if he wants a good time.
If you need anymore help let me know.

You might try spreading them out. I find that my canisters that I place them in are better for yardage markers than anything.
