I have been reading about this proposal in our local newspapers, and saw a link to the following website that has a petition to stop the feds from selling pieces of our National Forest. Please click on the link below and sign this petition! http://www.petitiononline.com/godwood1/petition.html
Nationwide we could lose 309,000 acres of National Forest! This land will NOT be replaced!

Don't judge a book by it's cover ; this may not be all bad.
Here's a link from San Fran.

If sen. D.Feinsteins against it, the issue must merit some research..

Yes, ducsauce I am located in VA, andI did read About this twice in the Roanoke Times. I guess that some of you guys here don't mind paying the high prices and driving long distances to hunt and bond with nature, but I like having the national forest close by.

Somebody is running a test case here. If they get away with it once, they're going to come back 10 years from now and want to sell 10 times more land off.
They are trying to sell off afew million acres, scattered strategically across the nation in small enough chunks to try to slip it by without too much opposition. Our local forest in MT would lose, one or two thousand acres.
The kicker to me is money from thissale is "designated for schools". They're trying to play the PC game there, who can shout about more money for the schools. Well, I can! I don't want to see acre #1 sold off to private interests. (If Dianne Feinstein is on the right side for once, then more power to her.)

None of them are township names in Lawrence county.
