I don't know if it is the same deer but I posted this a couple of weeks ago. There was a guy who shot a 214 class buck in St. Joseph, Missouri but he never found it. Two children found it behind a grocery store and now he wants it back. The kids received a salvage tag for it too get framed. I don't know if it is the same deer but I have pics of the deer they described since it was practically shot across the street from my house. The pic I have is the deer two years ago that we called bruiser.

If they said what county i didnt hear it. If anyone is from the st louis area, it was on the 10 o'clock channel 4 kmov news. they had a preview earlier in the evening about it and that is the sole reason i watched the news.

Are you sure this buck is typical? I mean did they show the rack on teh news, and it is a typical buck? 210 isn't all the huge for a NT, but it would be fora typical!

RE: NEW #2 TYPICAL ALL-TIME

Yes they showed the photo and it was a typical. Looked to have a main-frame 5X5 or 6X6, extremely long tines and mass with a few kickers.

I asked this on the other thread, does P&Y allow deer that have velvet and / or been castrated?

After reading a few articles about the deer, it seems that it is the "2nd largest deer still with velvet in the world" the key word being velvet which makes its a rare deer. I don't know howthis 19 point deer could be scored as typical and still score 210. It has a bunch of abnormal points and the 5 x 5 framelooks to have quite a bit of symmetrical deductions. It will be interesting to see how it turns out.

I just see to many deductions, but I'm not an official scorer. We'll see.

I think alot of people aren't really clear about what makes a non-typical score as a non-typ. Stickers, kickers and a drop tine or un-matching point does NOT make a deer non-typical. By that definition anything but an even numbered point buck would be a non-typ (like say a 9 or 11 ptr). The deer in the pics IS a trophy of a lifetime and with the velvet it truely is a unique rack. But I seriously doubt it would score anywhere near the #2 mark (yes P&Y does NOT allow velvet covered animals to be entered) the 210 sounds about like a gross score. The animal would probably net out typical around the 180s.

AWESOME animal none the less,
RA

RE: NEW #2 TYPICAL ALL-TIME

Am I missing something? The article said shot in December but the deer is still in velvet.

I think you can score a deer either way. If it scores higher as a non-typical, people usually score it that way. If it still makes book after subtracting abnormals, people will likely score it as a typical.

I think it's funny that the article says it's worth $100,000. I bet if you asked that hunter he'd tell you it was priceless.

The guy Bill Wise is a Columbia, MO resident and the deer was taken in Howard County. Yes, He did take the buck in December still in velvet and the reason being is reports say it was injured and missing a testicle.

This deer is supposedly going to be at the Missouri Deer Classic in Columbia this weekend March 4-5 at the Boone County Fairgrounds.
