2005 Deer mount finished
 

Heres a picture of the finished product. Taxidermist said 6 months, it was only 2 1/2. Probably should go back and chew some tail....haha I couldn't be any happier. There is one problem...I can't get much homework done because all I do is stare up at him. Anyway here he is. South Dakota deer, 5x5. Any guesses on what his score is?

Nice buck. Congrats! I'd guess he's 135 or so. For comparison, the one below scored 126 gross, 121 net. Yours looks a little narrower (about 12" to 13" inside spread?), but has a couple extra points, a little longer tine length,and looks like a little better mass.

MAN you GOT to LOVE those high narrow racks ...I would say yout buck scores around 142 ...good tine length ..good g2s ...and nice mass !

Nice buck, your taxi did a great job - and nice paintwork by the way. Did you cut in those edges yourself? Good job.

Well looks are definetly deseaving...From the picture yea he doesn't look that big. But I just rescored him today. He gross scored 160, nets about 154. The pictures don't show his length real well. He's also got long main beams which is a plus. But overall I'm pleased. Also what did you mean quicksilver about cutting the edges? I don't know what your talking about, but I think your talking about where the deer meets the wall. All I did was leave the screw out a little, and tucked the hair down and behind. Looks pretty good don't it.

Wow. A LOT better than my estimate (and most of the others...) How about posting the stats. I figured the G2's and 3's to be about 9-10 inches and the mass measurements to total in the low 20's. What were they?

It's always hard to tell in pictures. 2 and a half months??? I get to pick my 2004 buck up in about a week and a half! Can't wait though, people told me it look great even "breath taking" :D

Yes, I will have a journal entry in a couple weeks showing pic's of the Shredder. I'm scheduled to pick it up on Feb. 19th.... Counting down the days like it's opening day or something!

BB - when I said "cutting in the edges," I was talking about your painted wall - it looks like you did a good job not getting the colored paint onto the white part, in the corners specifically. I'm a real impatient painter, so I slop it everywhere (because I'm too hard-headed to tape it off), but it looks like you did a good job. You picked a good color scheme. I'll be moving this summer, so I've been thinking about paint/walls/colors/carpet/trimwork a lot. Pretty gay, I know....

Come on 130 or 140? The deer got mass, tine length, and main beams. 150 sounds about right. My 8pt is 138. Compare the two.
