Stands

In the past I have hunted only public lands so I use a tree climbing stand. Well this year I have found my way onto a lease in east texas, which I am really pumped about. However, I need to buy, make, or barrow two stands. I think that I will make at least one box stand (for those really cold rainy lazy days) and maybe a tree or tripod stand. I was wondering if anyone has an idea of the cost of a stand vs. building one, and if you have any advise. Alsoare thereany good places on the internet to research this topic.

RE: Stands

As high as lumber is you can buy a ladder stand as cheap as you can make one .:):):)

Well, not to dog you but have you not seen the trees in east texas. Surely there is a big piney woods tree you can use for your tree stand. I think you need to scout out the area and see if you can't find a good location........

RE: Stands

we build our box stands. Not that hard actually. You might just wanna stick with your climber though and buy the cover you can strap to the tree for a roof. Oh, welcome to east texas and good luck!:D
