Hey 63, I thought that was a cool idea. What's up with no pics? I simply just don't know how to scan photos to upload as attachments. I'm self taught.[&o]

This is an the oldest deer that I have ever seen. I don't think he made it through the night. He only had one eye and walked with a limp. I called him lucky. I would have shot him, but I was just running the camera.

Thanks, back then that's all I ever seen anyone shoot. I didn't see my first compound bow until the early '70s in a hunting mag. I told my dad I'd never shoot one of those "machines" too ugly! Wow! was I wrong! I've shot every gadget you can get on a bow.[:-]

and you wonder why the deer herds were so low before we started seasons to conserve them. that's a lot of deer right there and you figure you'd probbaly see that in just about every town back then[:@][:'(]

not anything about you 63 just those pics make me sad

I have been to that web site http://www.viewsofthepast.com that the first post on this thread got its pics from. There are like 300 of them and you can order them framed and what not. This is my favorite so far

Greg that looks like an old Locksly laminated recurve I use to shoot back in the mid 60s ... but you forgot the sights ...we use to tape a bobbie pen on the riser and look through the round part to sight in ...was kind of crude but work for about 20 yards ... anyway super picture you got there ..

Thanks, actually it is an old Indian Archery recurve. As far as sights go, I never even thought of it. I had never seen sights at that time. I thought that instinctive was the only way to shoot a bow! I still have that bow and all the others I've had.

RE: Let's see some old photo's

my grandmother owns a grocery store and there used to be an old guy named kenneth greer that would come in and talk about the muleys he used to shoot in colorado back in the 50's and 60's.

i finally got to see some pics of them and man, they had a few laying in the back of a pickup and i swear the spread was as wide as the bed of the truck.

i have tried to get in touch with him so i could see them again but my granma hasnt seen him in a few years.

he says the mounts are hanging in the Lone Star Brewery in San Antonio. these deer were huge and since thepics were inblack and white, made it look even cooler.
