RE: First deer
Doe in 2003 after about 8 years of nothing(never seen one for seven of them, only gun hunting then). Not bad spots just bad luck everyone else I hunted with kept getting deer. Got one every year since then. Just started bow hunting last year.

RE: First deer
Honestly, I say anything goes when it comes to a person's first deer. No matter how big or how small the deer (anything is a trophy in their eyes) but, with that person (son, daughter, spouse, sig. other, etc) they will always cherish THAT moment b/c more than likely they will be with a person they care about and truthfully, that's all that really matters. That's how hunting traditions get passed on from generation to generation. That's what got me hooked!! :)

RE: First deer
My first deer was a 6 point buck that I shot with my first rifle, an SKS. The buck came in from the east and I shot him on one of our access roads in our woods within 10 yards. Needless to say he wasnt moving too fast, and his tongue was hanginign out of his mouth, I think he just got done with a doe. It only took me 6 years to get my first deer. Dressed out at an amazing 210lbs. I still have pictures somewhere ill post them when i find them.

RE: First deer
My first deer was a spike buck in Oct. 1985 after 9 years of hard hunting. It seems like after that I started to get them every year. Mike
