Case in point - one of our local news channels did an investigative report during sweeps week claiming a local man died of a brain disease he got from eating CWD infected deer at a Wisconsin game feed. They had his widow on the news crying. Turns out afterward, they belive the disease was the result of something else and the news channel had to correct itself. But that didn't matter, the damage had already been done.

Typical media. Take astory, any old story which can be sensationalized and run it to death. More blood, gut, decit the better.

Then when it all falls out from under them - they do a quick 1 sentence retraction. Seldomly accepting any sort of blame for failing to verify the story in the first place. There is far too much "reporting" of "I heard" and "someone had said".

Who the heck is someone? I've never met him.
