Anyone ever been saved by their safety belt?
A few days ago I fell out of my stand and was saved by my safety belt. Anyone else ever had this experience? Although I would't quite call it an experience.

I don't know if you call it saved, but I lost my bottom piece to a 2 piece climber. It gave me leverage to get back on the top piece and eventually get to a situation I could unhook and jump down.
But I learned a lesson that day. Those one piece jobs around your chest can kill you. I was amazed how tired my diaphram got and started to suffacate. Itwill be worse if you put around you belly. Now, I only wear full body.
One thing everyone should do is test it. Do it in a controled manner close to the ground of course.

I knew a boy that was literally hanged to death even though it was determined that he had the harness on correctly. This was about 20 years ago. While using a two piece climber I always have a short cord tying the two together so that even if you lose the bottom you can reclaim it.

Dont' wear them. The strap that goes to the tree always bugs me. It restricts my movement and gets in the way for me while bowhunting.
