I got 10 but i think he is talking about the main frame 8 instead of a 10 with the kickers

Am I blind or is this a ten point? Either way, both bucks are monsters.
Yeah, Im referring to it as a main frame 8pt, its got 16" G2's and incredable mass.

The second buck would be scored as a main frame 8 pt. The two stickers would be added for the gross score, but deducted for the net score. Thus a "main frame 8"

Actually, when scoring typical deer, stickers ( abnormal points ) are not included in the gross score, they go straight to the deduction column. Personally, I think that stickers should just be ignored when scoring typical deer. You know, if they are not going to contribute to the gross score, why subtract them from the net score. The only time an odd point is added to the gross score is when they have an odd number of typical points. 7pt,9pt,11pt...then they get deducted away in the side to side deductions. Basically, a typical deers net score is the smallest side doubled. I myself go by gross score to get a more accurate picture of how big the deer really is.

that is a crazy looking deer, never seen an 8 that big.

surely they keep records somewhere of the biggest mainframe 8 point, wonder if that one is it?

I stand corrected, wasn't sure on the stickers. Net is smallest side doubled PLUS the greatest inside spread. In a nutshell.Good explanation greg.

And why exactly isn't that bad boy being mounted????
My guess would be that the person who shot it expects to get it back from the processor when they collect their meat(unlikely) , or possibly the hunter wasn't a trophy collector .

Example: I'm strictly a meat hunter personally , I don't have a single trophy on my walls and never willsince they have no value to me . If I shot one like thatit would be because he crossed my path and Ihad oodles of summer sausage and cheese bologna which I do valueon my mind.I'd havesent the antlers to Cardeer for him to make lucky necklaces out of them ,or keep for his own collection if he wanted to. Everybody's different in what they value .
