Cuddeback set-up opinions/help

My Cuddeback came monday and I have set it up and have been really irritating my dogs in the back yard with great sucess. I have a few set up questions that I would like to get some opinions from you experienced Cuddie guys.

1. Camera delay, how long? can you take to many pics of the same deer and scare them away?

2.Flash range, standard or long?

3. Sense level, Auto, low, standard, high? Is this the heat sense or the motion sense?

4. View Quality, standard or high? And is this only for the TV port or is this the quality of the pics?

Thanks in advance, just wanted to get some advice from fellow cudde users. Will post pics when I get them, but probally not going to put camera up untill at least this weekend.

1. I use one minute delay
2. Mine is set on standard
3. Standard, never tried it on high or low. I do not have any empty pictures that may have been caused by a strong breeze or something.
4. thats just for tv I believe

The delay depends on where you have the camera. If it is where the deer will linger such as a feeder you may want a longer delay, maybe 5 minutes. If it is along a trail you will want the shortest delay. It also depends on the size of your memory card and how often you will be able to check it.

Try the standard flash and if your deer are consistantly far away and not lit up then use long.

Start with the standard sensitivity.

I also think the view quality is for TV viewing, which I have not done.

Same thing as said above! I dont hink you are going to scare the deer with the flash, i have 36 pictures of a 150+ class buck and he keeps coming back. He has stood there for 10 minutes getting his pic taken every min and he doesnt mind it at all.

Deer don't mind the flash. I have a camtrakker, regular camera set out near a feeder, and put it on 10 minute delay. You don't want one animal taking 20 plus pictures, so if you have it at a feeder, I'd go with at least 5 minute delay, and probably 10 would be better. As mentioned, it depends on how many pictures your card will hold and how long between the times you check it.

I have myCuddeback set on everything standard or default with a 3 minute delay. I have been very pleased with it's performance set up this way. I just received the Cuddeback 2006 catalog, and they have 3 redesigned models. A 2.0mp, 3.0mp, and a Infared 3.0. They all look smaller, and they have improved the flash to 60 feet. They also claim they decreased trigger time to 3/4 of a second. I was already planning to buy another camera this year, so the new3.0 will be on my list
