i would get something lightweight that breathes. no goretex. usually i just wear my uninsulated leather backpacking boots that weigh ~2lbs and if its cold bring my overboots that i put on when i get to the stand. i hunt in wisconsin fyi.

I grew up 10 minutesfrom L.L.Bean, in Yarmouth , Maine, I guees Maybe that why I can get away with only wearing 400 grams of thisulate here in Indiana. Rookies!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:)Cabela's Winter 800 by Meindl. Warmest, most comfortable boot I've ever worn. Spendy, but my ankles are not what they used to be and they give good support.

Doc, I bought a pair of Danner Pronghorns (400 gms Thinsulate) at Bass Pro ($149...I think) last year and they are real confortable, plus they were pretty warm while I was in Wyoming...I also think they come w/800 gms of Thinsulate...hope that helps.
