Buying my first tree stand
Hello to all,
I want to buy a nice tree stand and was hoping to get some advice. I’ve looked through the internet and stores at the various types and the one that caught my eye was found here. There’s a link to one called the “tree lounge”. Have any of you used this one and if so, what do you think of it. Are there any recommendations for others or did I find the crown jewel? I will be rifle hunting with it. (12ga with a slug barrel) |

With the strategies I hunt I rarely use a treestand. However, after doing alot of research I decided that the Tree Loungeis going to be my stand...
Thanks Jcc!:D:D:D |

Here is why I chose. 1. Summit has a 5 star reputation 2. I needed one tha twould not squeak when I was bow hunting and could hold me. Don't ask what I weigh but I put it to the test. 3. My back sometimes gets sore so I needed comfort. You got it. It is safe enough to sleep in. 4.I'm 51 and not in the best of shape and have been back packing it over 1 mile. 5.I feel safe in it and I am afraid of heights. I only go about 12 feet. 6 You can shoot 360 degrees. Please keep your harness on.It is still a man made tool. |

try the api grandslam bowhunter, awesome stand I put the summit stirrups on mine and it is simple and fast.

RE: Buying my first tree stand
Fortunately I won’t have to trek anywhere with the stand. It will be used at the back of my property. We have a thin strip of trees that separate our property from the corn field behind them. There is a large section of woods that runs along the right side of our property that the deer use to walk through to get to the corn field across from our house.
What’s great is in the corner where our trees meet the woods; there is a large grassy area that runs about 75 yards into the corn field. The deer bed down there. Some of the trees are acorn trees that they munch on prior to the corn being ready. I’ve picked a tall tree that sits right over the grassy area. I talked to the farmer that owns the land and he said he didn’t have a problem with me shooting deer in his field from my stand. He said if I see any ground hogs or yotes out there to take them as well especially the ground hogs. No problem. What’s cool is being new to deer hunting this gives me an opportunity through out the year to watch and observe the deer’s habits. I’m half tempted to buy a bow to extend my hunting season. It would be fun to goof around with a bow in my back yard anyhow. Man I’m pumped. I love new hobbies. I have a feeling this one will replace the others. Well maybe not golf and fishing. |
