Done it a few times and we are allowed here in NJ to take two antlerless deer at the same time. I've had a herd of about 8 deer come thru my area a few years back and I picked two of the larger does and dropped them with two shots. Could have taken a third and even a fourth as some scattered but hung around for a few seconds, but that's illegal and I only neded 2 to fill my freezer.

Ok with me. I am always supprised how many discuss the first shot as to if it was a sure kill. I don't shoot without a clear broadside proped up for a 99% kill rate. usually they are down in sight. If # 2 comes buy he's history.A co-hunter of mine specifically hunts for doubles. He always waits after a shot, in his stand, for a hour or so and often gets a returner. Last year he dropped a doe and a buck came back sniffing the downed doe.

if I knew that it was a good hit and I knew exactly where it entered cover and where it would most likely go from there or if I could see it from my stand, yes, as long as I had a good shot on the second one that is.
