Default my first deer

how ya like this beauty!! got him december 19 at 10am. I was sitting in a creek bottom watching a oak ridge that turns from oaks to pines as it curves around the back of a cow pasture. at around 9:50 I looked up and saw this beauty coming down the hill. He walked down to the barb wire that surrounded the cow pasture and stopped then turned around to go the way he had just come, I whistled at him and he stopped dead in his tracks. Needless to say, I shot him. He ran about 30 yards and dropped . I shot him with my Thompson Center Black Diamond using 250 grain Thompson Center Shock Wave sabots with 100 grains of powder (went straight through 'im)

He has a 19" inside span. Did some "rough" measurements and he scores around a 124-125 or so...which isn't "huge" like some deer can get, but he's right big

Thats a nice smokepole buck. Im jealous of two things, the nice buck and the fact that you get to kill deer in the middle of december and still wear shorts! thats just not fare!!!
