neighbor as in next door or neighbor as in our land is connected. I live about 5 mins from him. I guess you mean by land is connected.
No, not necessarily connected. To me, 5 minaway would constitute you as being my neighbor. When you approach him, just say "I'm your neighbor from down the road"

Good luck

UTM,

I deeply appreciated your comments about allowing people to hunt on your land. If it wasn't for people like you, I wouldn't have been able to grow up hunting. I hope that he let's you hunt and I hope that you get a record breaker!

I asked this old guy to hunt his land for three straight years. Every year he would say no but I kept trying. He was nice but wouldn't give in. I had to give up because he died. At least I tried.

You miss 100% of the shots youdon't take. Respectfully ask. If he says yes, great, if he says no, thank him and move on. Larry

UTM,
I was in your boat last year. I saw somew land that was posted and always had a few deer sitting in the field when I drove by. Tis year I looked at the court house of who owned the land and gave him a call. It turned out to be a older gentleman who had some other guy hunting it years back but he died a few years ago. He went on to say he had no problem with me hunting it as long as I would sign a waiver and I would give him name s of anybody dumping garbage orold christmas trees on his land. I saw more deer on that patch them on thousands of acres of game landsI also hunted. All i would say is ask and offer to help out with something related to the owner's land. This year I plan to put a nice little food plot on the land I hunt, since I'm the only one who has permission to hunt it. Sorry, in case any of you are asking. It is to small for more than a couple people and me and my kids are just enough.

Well today I worked up enough of a mind set to go out and look for the owner. I am not a ppl person so this was very hard for me to do. there are two houses by this land and I thought one of them might be the owners house. One of the houses looked like no one lived in it so I went on to the next one. Mean while on my way there in the truck I was talking out loud as to what I was going ot say to them. I kept repeating myself over and over making sure I had it right. Cause I didn't want to ruin it with the wrong tone or sound like a dumbass. the only person home was a guys wife and she said that they really didn' know who owned it but "someone" told her husband that if anyone came by asking to hunt it just tell them to go ahead. I really didn't understand this but I just left it at that. she said if she were me she would just go on out there and if someone said something to me, then no big deal. I went back to my truck thinking "man I really want to hunt this" so I wrote down my name and number and went back and asked her if her husband knew to please give me a call and she agreed. So I guess I am going to hunt it with my bow during the week until I find out 100% its ok to hunt it rather than 90%. I did go back the courthouse to find out but they were closed.
