Hey man every now and then you got to shoot those does to keep the doe and buck ratio down
This doe weighed about 125lbs I guess ...pretty good one for around here ...and yeh I know you have to shoot a few to keep the ratio in check and the farmer wants me to shoot ALL the deer I see but I always feel bad for some reason for shooting doe's ... as for eating the deer I shoot yes me, my family and a few friends enjoy eating deer meat ...none goes to waste and I do not shoot ANYTHING just to be killing it ..if I don't eat it I don't shoot it with coyotes being an exception. I have posted the deer I have shot this year (8 ..5 bucks 3 doe's) because I was critisized last year on here about the big buck I took in Canada last year ..that some bet thats a paid hunt was the only way i could kill a deer ... most did not realize I have hunted here for over 20 years ...and know a little about the sport ..

Enjoy that venison . I had some steaks 2 days ago. It makes me want to hunt harder.;)

DD I seen a post on here before I joined about how many deer could be harvest,but couldn't find it.Anyway,I think it is one a day for how many days there?
And I was wondering how many hunters are actually in that state and why do you still have deer if anyonecan take one a day?
Does that mean if you can take one a day and you have 30 days can you take 15 one day and 15 another day as long as the total don't exceed 30?
I was just curious cause I am from Pa. and we are haveing alot of debate over the herd size dropping in no. Just wondering why you still have deer there or do they stock them just for you?:D

Good Question TJ ...you can take abuck or doe everyday from Oct.20 until Jan 31 if you bow hunt ..if you rifle hunt you can take aone buck a day from Nov.20 to Jan 31and we alsohave about 50 doe days in north Alabama where you can take a doe and a buck during those days ... but I also hunt southern Tennessee ...there bag limit is not as liberal ...and you have to tag all your deer there ...

I don't feel bad about shooting does. The state has extended the seaso by almost two months for the last several years for doe only. To many hunters won't shoot does and their numbers grow way out of contrl. I have taken six does this season and still have two tage. Plus I could buy two more tage if I had freezer room. Or if I can get enough of these canned in time. We love the deer meat and it makes up 80 percent of out meat meals. I shot one more but it was hit by another hunter first so I gave it to him.
