RE: Bucks together???
It's not uncommon at all to see bucks traveling together after the secondary rut. While bowhunting in early Sept. 1990 I saw three six point or better walking together.
We jumped five in a brier thicket three weeks ago running dogs. Deer are after all are social animals. The rut seperates the bucks but after that they're all one happy family again. ![]() |

RE: Bucks together???
I don't think that it is strange, are you seeing them in a feeding area. They may just be coming out together to feed. Do you see these bucks in the company of does. Are you seeing the same bucks together. Perhaps theycould be young bucks that are twins and not started life on their own yet. I don't think that it is anything out of the onrdinary.

RE: Bucks together???
Buck Deer and Bull Elk usually run in bachelor groups all year except during the rut. The younger bucks and bulls learn from the older ones, and the older ones use the younger ones for protection. Several times I've seen early season hunters flush a bachelor group of bucks only to have the younger ones make a lot of racket and bust out of wherever and the the older one sneaks quietly out the back door and no one knows he's there. It's not at all uncommon. <img src=icon_smile_cool.gif border=0 align=middle>
