trouthunter 12-17-2005 10:50 AM Added bonus   My last day November buck offered me more than a great experience hunting with family, it gave me a bit of insight as to how my son will turn out in his hunting future. The story of the hunt is posted in the field journal section under Troy Pottenger’s “Family Stand” entry, so I won’t rehash it here. One thing that wasn’t mentioned was I was able to gut the deer in witness of my 6 yr old son. He hadn’t been around that part of the hunting experience yet, and I was curious to know how he would handle seeing all the blood and guts. He came thru like a champ! In fact, it was all I could do from keeping him out of the chest cavity. He kept asking “daddy, what is that? What is this? Eewwwee…lots of blood..cool!” I now know my future little hunting buddy will be ready to go when he harvests his first animal.
